It says that console companion was delated in august 2023, i just bought a xbox one but i only have my laptop. i looked it up on google before i bought the xbox and it said i could 100% use my laptop as a monitor. this was Bull. please dont tell me i just waisted my money.

Click on "Get in Store app" and let the Store install the app. However, I highly suggest you to use the latest Xbox app, available on the Microsoft Store : it has the same features as the Companion app, but it has regular updates and supports the latest technologies. Open System > Settings. Select Preferences > Xbox app connectivity. Select Allow game streaming to other devices. In your Windows device, open Xbox app then click on profile. Then scroll down to see Add Console. Select the console to connect or you may enter the IP address manually and connect. Once connected, Select Stream.
The other Xbox App is pretty much useless for me, sure i can chat with xbox Friends and Download games to pc (but thats what i have my xbox For) also the companion app had way more functions then the new app does.
