Shadowless Pagoda (Korean: 무영탑; Hanja: 無影塔; RR: Muyeongtap) is a 1957 South Korean film starring Choi Eun-hee (최은희) as Guseul Agi (구슬아기), a free-spirited woman, and Kwak Geon (곽건) as Asadal (아사달), the stonemason credited with creating the Dabotap and Seokgatap pagodas at Bulguksa temple.
Bulguksa (Korean: 불국사) is a Buddhist temple on Tohamsan, in Jinhyeon-dong, Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.. It is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and contains six National Treasures, including the Dabotap and Seokgatap stone pagodas, Cheongun-gyo (Blue Cloud Bridge), and two gilt-bronze statues of Buddha.
The contrast between the simplicity of the Seokgatap and the complexity of the Dabotap is designed to represent the dual nature of the Buddha's contemplation and detachment from the world or perhaps it symbolizes the celestial versus the terrestrial.
