The Navistar T444E is a diesel V8 engine manufactured by Navistar International Corporation. In its use in Ford Motor Company trucks, vans, and school buses, it is the first of the Power Stroke family of diesel engines. The engine was built in two displacements: 420 cubic inches (6.9 L), which was used in Ford trucks from 1983 until 1987, and 444 cubic inches (7.3 L), which was used in Ford trucks from 1988 until 1994 (naturally aspirated) and in 1993 and 1994 (turbocharged).
A 4.9L inline-six was standard, with a 5.0L V8 (on E-150 only) and a 5.8L V8 offered as options. On 350-series vans, a 7.5L V8 and 7.3L Navistar diesel V8 were also optional; the diesel became turbocharged in 1993. For 1995, the IDI diesel was replaced by a 7.3L Ford Power Stroke diesel V8 (also sourced from Navistar).
2012–present; The 3.2 is an I5 engine used in the Ford Transit, the Ford Ranger, Ford Everest, Mazda BT-50 and the Vivarail. For the North American-spec Transit, * the 3.2 L Duratorq is modified to meet American and Canadian emissions standards and is branded as a Power Stroke engine.
Named for the 1962 Ford Taunus V4 engine and Ford Cologne V6 engine built in Cologne, Germany.. 1.2/1.3/1.5/1.7L were mostly in European Cars. 1.8, 2.0/2.3 had the same bellhousings bolt patterns with differences from year to year to be wary of.
