It doesn't want to be 100% precise and clear up any potential for mystery. At its core it's just magic powered by anger and depression. The series implicitly assumes you know how a popular generic shonen series work. That's why it goes through ideas so quickly and why powers are not explained in mechanical detail.
Well this is definitely becoming a "Nobody is having a good time" kind of anime. Fake Geto and Sukuna did though. For Sukuna, since his awakening, buddy been eating pop corn, ice skating, t-posing for fun, opened a kitchen in shibuya, playing red light green light and even offered a guy to join their team.
I liked s1 much better. S2 was a bit boring for me. Can't justify putting s1 above s2 but mostly because the story ramps up really hard. Animation wise they're really close (later half of s2 has some questionable ones despite the animators clutching it out to the best of their ability, not their ofc).
