He was born on April 29, 1897, in Skaneateles, Onondaga County, New York. He graduated from Skaneateles High School in 1916. During World War I he served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Cornell Law School in 1921. [1] He married Dorothy Hall (1898–1978), and they had three children. [2]

Skaneateles (/ ˌ s k æ n i ˈ æ t l ə s / SKAN-ee-AT-ləs, locally / ˌ s k ɪ n-/ SKIN-) [4] is a town in Onondaga County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 7,112. [2] The name is from the Iroquois term for the adjacent Skaneateles Lake, which means "long lake."
Buffalo Explorer High School Club Hockey League was the first club hockey league in Western New York, starting in 1972. Southtowns High School Club Hockey League began in 1974 and Western New York High School Club Hockey League in 1976. NYSPHSAA recognized high school hockey starting in 1980 with official state tournament being held.
