Origin of Muse is a box set by English rock band Muse, released on 6 December 2019 through Muse's Helium 3 label and Warner Records. [1] It includes remastered editions of Muse's first two albums, Showbiz (1999) and Origin of Symmetry (2001), as well as B-sides, demos, and live performances from their early career.

"New Born" first started out as a guitar-based piece played in soundcheck during the Showbiz tour back in 1999, and the piano intro was written afterwards. During the recording of the album in the David Bottrill sessions, the band experimented with using Bellamy's voice for the arpeggios instead of the piano, but decided that this was too "abstract" and removed it during post-recording.
The album title derives from the 1994 book Hyperspace by the theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, which suggests the title The Origin of Symmetry for a future book about the discovery of supersymmetry, a reference to On the Origin of Species.
