The Myrtle Beach Invitational is an in-season college basketball tournament owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television that takes place in late November of each year, usually the week before Thanksgiving. The tournament had its inaugural run in 2018.
On February 28, 2013, Fox Sports South and SportSouth reached a deal with the Braves to acquire the 45 additional Atlanta Braves games beginning with the 2013 season, ending the team's contract with WPCH-TV and marking the first time in 40 years that the team's game telecasts were not available on broadcast television in the Atlanta market.
The channel traces its history to Turner South, a cable and satellite television channel that was launched on October 1, 1999, [1] by the Turner Broadcasting System.It was the first regional entertainment network developed especially for viewers in the southern U.S., featuring a mix of movies, comedy and drama series, regional news updates, and unique original programming.
The network's long-time "Voice of the Tar Heels" for football and men's basketball games was Woody Durham from 1971 until his retirement in 2011. [3] Mick Mixon partnered with Durham as the color analyst from 1989-2005 for both football and basketball before departing to take the job as the play-by-play announcer for the Carolina Panthers. [4]
