JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is a private deemed university in Bengaluru, India. Originating from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College of Engineering (SBMJCE), it was conferred the deemed-to-be-university status in 2009. Each engineering branch takes in 60 students. This intake is only for admissions to the first year of the 4-year B.E. degree program but includes direct admissions to the second year for Jain students who have completed 3-year engineering diplomas. As a private college, it also has some "institute-level seats" which are filled on merit basis.
