Wally Walrus is an animated cartoon character created by Walter Lantz and James Culhane. He appeared in several films produced by Walter Lantz Productions from the 1940s through the 1960s. [ 5 ]
In 1950, Lantz held anonymous auditions. Grace, Lantz's wife, offered to do Woody's voice, but Lantz turned her down because Woody was a male character. Not discouraged in the least, Grace made her own anonymous audition tape and submitted it to the studio. Not knowing who was behind the voice, Lantz chose Grace's voice for Woody Woodpecker.

Wally the Walrus, also known as Wally the Wandering Walrus, is a male arctic walrus who attracted much media attention for appearing, and hauling out, during 2021 in several locations across the coast of western Europe, mainly Ireland and Britain, far away from the typical range of a walrus. He is estimated to weigh around 800 kilograms (1,800 lb).
Willy Walrus (also voiced by Rob Paulsen) – Wally's nephew who appears in the episodes "Just Say Uncle" and "Stuck on You". Cupid (also voiced by Billy West) – a cupid who appears in the episode "Date with Destiny". Woodrow Woodpecker (also voiced by Charlie Adler) – a nerdy woodpecker who appears in "Teacher's Pet".
Like Woody, Winnie was redesigned to look almost exactly like Woody did from 1950 until 1972, the obvious differences being that she was a female woodpecker and had blue eyes. Woody's primary antagonist was Wally Walrus, who became Woody's neighbor (Woody lived in a tree house in Mrs. Meany's front yard, and Wally lived next door).
Woody accidentally sets Wally's umbrella and beach chair alight, which is the final straw for Wally. The pair battle using the firefighting equipment, and Woody escapes by tunneling under the sand, inside a pole, and coming out of a pelican's beak. Wally chases Woody to the amusement pier, where the woodpecker pretends to be a palm reader.
