The South Central Coast is central Vietnam's most industrialized region, mostly due to major industrial centers such as Da Nang and Khánh Hòa province. However, industrialization in the region is still lagging behind the national average and is far behind Vietnam's two major industrial hubs around Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi .

Nha Trang (English: / ˌ n j ɑː ˈ t r æ ŋ / or / ˌ n ɑː ˈ t r æ ŋ /; Vietnamese: [ɲaː˧ ʈaːŋ˧] ⓘ) is a coastal city and capital of Khánh Hòa Province, on the South Central Coast of Vietnam. It is bounded on the north by Ninh Hoà town, on the south by Cam Ranh city and on the west by Diên Khánh District.
It is the South Central Coast's largest producer of sugar-cane with a harvest of 1.051 million t (6% of Vietnam's total harvest). Cultivation of cotton and tobacco is also significant, with 800 t (5% of the national total) and 700 t (2.2%) respectively. [7] Other crops include peanuts, cashew nuts, pepper, and coffee. [6]
