Founded in 1855, it is the younger of two Bethel Cemeteries in Boone County. The church and cemetery are still active and are currently affiliated with the American Baptist Convention. Moniteau County (/ m ɒ n ɪ ˈ t ɔː / mon-ih-TAW [1]) is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 United States census , the population was 15,473. [ 2 ] Its county seat is California . [ 3 ]
A post office called High Point was established in 1852, and remained in operation until 1973. [4] The community was so named on account of its lofty elevation. [5] The High Point Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. [6]
