Arshad Nadeem was born into a Punjabi Muslim family in Mian Channu, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. [12] The family belongs to the Jat community. [13] [14] [15] He is the third-oldest among eight siblings. [12] Nadeem was an exceptionally versatile athlete from his early school years.
Nadeem has acted in over 200 Pakistani Films from his debut film Chakori (1967); and in his hit films such as Diya Aur Toofan (1969), and Aina (1977) to modern superhits such as Main Hoon Shahid Afridi (2013). The following is a list of the films he has participated in as an actor or director.

His father, Syed Sarwar Munir, was the principal of the FG Technical High School, Lalkurti, Rawalpindi and the imam of a mosque, Masjid-al-Quraish, situated in a locality of Dheri Hassanabad, where he often delivered the Friday Khutbah sermon. Munir has two siblings, Syed Qasim Munir and Syed Hashim Munir.
