Valentino Rossi (/ ˈ r ɒ s i / ROSS-ee, Italian: [valenˈtiːno ˈrossi]; born 16 February 1979) is an Italian racing driver, former professional motorcycle road racer and nine-time Grand Prix motorcycle racing World Champion. His nickname is The Doctor, Rossi is widely considered one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time.
The SKY Racing Team VR46 is a motorcycle racing team owned by Valentino Rossi and based in Tavullia (Marche, Italy). The team enters Grand Prix motorcycle racing in the Moto2 category with Kalex chassis and previously in Moto3 category with KTM RC250GP motorcycles. The team manager is the former road racer Pablo Nieto.
In the team's first year they choose Romano Fenati and Francesco Bagnaia as riders with Rossi's former Cagiva teammate Vittoriano Guareschi as team manager. Valentino Rossi won two world titles with the team, in 2002 and 2003.. Crivillé, Okada and Gibernau remained with the team for 2000 all on NSR500 motorcycles. 2000 was a difficult year for the Repsol Honda Team, as Crivillé only got one win and finished ninth overall, Okada finished eleventh and Gibernau fifteenth.
