Konaseema district, (officially Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district) is a district in Konaseema region of Andhra Pradesh in India.It is situated between the tributaries of the Godavari River in the Coastal Andhra.
The town is located in south east Tamil Nadu and connected by NH 49 (also called as AH 43) to Madurai from Rameswaram. East Coast Road is the major coastal road in east Tamil Nadu which connects the state capital Chennai and Ramanathapuram; this road also connects Ramanathapuram with Pondicherry , Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari.
Around 300 farmers cultivate the exotic jasmine variety that is known for its unique fragrance. Small nurseries cover at least 150 acres in the village.
