The Buzz was on 107.5 first, where the signal strength was awful. So corporate swapped them with 94.5 WOGL. But they did it through an absolutely shameless stunt, where they said they were shutting down the Buzz.
But basically what I did here is assembled my favorite hard rock hits that were often played in the 00s, then added a few lesser-known songs from the 00s, as well as a chunk of bangers from the 2010s and even last year + this year. I hope you'll find that it captures the essence of The Buzz, as it was in the 2000s, fairly accurately.
Gen x here. Classic rock to me is the old 101, but I think the buzz plays our classic rock. Maybe my kids consider 90s stuff classic rock. But the buzz wants to call itself alternative rock, but it's not. Its 90s-2000s pop rock. I would like to 90s am metal station back, or even rice radio reggae plz.
It wasn't always this bad. When I moved back to Houston in the mid 1990's and we were close enough to Houston to pick up their stations, one of the first stations I picked up was 107.5 "The Buzz Alternative Rock" (They moved to 94.5 a few years later).
fuck naw, that's because today's latest hits SUCKS in the rock category. there's no more good alternative rock/metal being produced as mainstream radio never plays legit rock bands anymore. therefore the buzz have to resort to old classics which are infinitely way better than today's pop "rock" crap. so give em a break. i dont wanna hear fucking imagine dragons and panic at the disco on a ...
I'm getting tired of 94.5 the buzz cut and Hawaiian shirt alternative oldies. Can your morning show stop playing game show music for the first 4 minutes in the morning and actually play music. Reply
I remember when she first joined the Buzz people were complaining about how much of a "yes man" and a pushover she was with Rod and all his comments/ideas. Over the course of her being on that show with him though she started to develope her own voice and opinions on things, and really balanced it out for the better (if thats even possible).
I used to listen to the Rod Ryan Show every morning. Now it’s just sad. The buzz plays Lincoln Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Offspring, Nirvana in HEAVY rotation. Most of the songs they play were good. 20+ years ago. But not 6 times a day, everyday for 20 years good.
Don't know if you're talking about the "Save The Buzz" thing, but my father worked in advertising at the time when there was all this drama about The Buzz going away back when it was 107.5 and 94.5 was the oldies station.
Just came home driving and it seems like the HD2 channel for the buzz no longer exists. The radio shows other station's HD channels no problem but it seems like it disappeared overnight. Can't find anything online about it. Same thing happened with the alt 93.7 HD2 "the loop", no notice or anything. Anyone know what happened?
