Nymphaea alba, the white waterlily, European white water lily or white nenuphar / ˈ n ɛ nj ʊ f ɑːr /, is an aquatic flowering plant in the family Nymphaeaceae. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] [ 7 ] It is native to North Africa, temperate Asia, Europe and tropical Asia (Jammu and Kashmir).
Flowers are heart shaped: 10–20 cm (3.9–7.9 in) wide and have tails that are up to 60 cm (24 in). The flower is green/white with purple/brown veins. The center of the flower is darker colored, which attracts pollinators along with a distinctive odor to its reproductive elements.
