Finger Lakes State Park is a public recreation area consisting of 1,138 acres (461 ha) in Boone County near the city of Columbia, Missouri, and adjacent to the Rocky Fork Lakes Conservation Area. The state park is unusual in that the site was reclaimed after having been strip mined for coal . [ 4 ]
Stephens Lake Park is a park located in Columbia, Missouri. Today it serves as an arboretum with a lake, and a park spanning 116 acres. It is often used as a live music venue with the Roots N Blues Festival taking place here every year. In the early 1800s the David Gordon House and Collins Log Cabin were built upon the land.
The program brings music and cultural education to elementary, middle school and high school students across mid-Missouri. In 2013, the Roots N Blues Foundation was formed to manage the program. Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is a geological preserve and public recreation area encompassing 2,273 acres (920 ha), five miles (8.0 km) south of Columbia in Boone County, Missouri off of Missouri Route 163.
It is home to the Columbia Farmers Market, and contains a pavilion with space for 98 vendors. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The park opened in 2019 and by 2021 will include an interactive urban farm , demonstration gardens and orchards, a commercial kitchen, event space, a recreational trail, amphitheater, outdoor classroom, and playground.
