The Bellevue Avenue/Casino Historic District encompasses a one-block section of Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island.Although Bellevue Avenue is best known for the large number of Gilded Age mansions which line it, especially further south, this block is a coherent collection of commercial buildings at the northern end of the mansion row.

It is a five-story Colonial Revival building with, in 2020, 208 rooms or suites. The facility includes a fine-dining restaurant, a lounge, a seasonal bar & kitchen, regular afternoon tea service in its Garden Room, [2] [3] and a spa and sauna.
Newport's Van Bueren family donated money to the private Preservation Society of Newport to restore the building in 1952, after years of neglect as a boarding house. [2] After the restoration, it was sold and once again operated as a private tavern and restaurant, [2] and it remains a popular drinking and dining location today. [3]
In 1780, Clarke Cooke, a wealthy Newport sea captain built the house nearby on Thames Street, opposite what is now the Blues Cafe, before eventually moving from Thames Street as it commercialized. In the 1970s David W. Ray purchased the building and moved it over a sixth month period in 1973 to Bannister's Wharf.
Newport Creamery began with Samuel Rector's Newport, Rhode Island dairy business in 1928. [1] Rector began as a wholesaler and started home delivery in 1932. In 1940, Rector and his son opened their first restaurant in nearby Middletown, where the company is still headquartered.
