Oak Hill is a 170-acre (0.69 km 2) estate Greek revival mansion.Oak Hill was an original Victorian-style farmhouse that was built in 1847. During the American Civil War and the capture of Rome during The Atlanta Campaign, the estate was used by the Union soldiers as a place to stay. [1]
Turner County is a county located in the south central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,006. [1] The county seat is Ashburn. [2] The county was created on August 18, 1905, and named for Henry G. Turner, U.S. representative and Georgia state Supreme Court justice. [3]
Liberty Hill in La Grange, Georgia, about 0.75 miles (1.21 km) west of the Chattahoochee River in Troup County, is a Greek Revival style plantation house built in the 1830s or 1840s. The original cotton plantation owner, John T. Boykin, bought the piece of land the house is on in 1836.
