James and the Shame is the stage name used by American musician and entertainer Rhett James McLaughlin of the comedy duo Rhett & Link for his solo music projects. McLaughlin's first album under the name was released in September 2022 and was titled Human Overboard. The album discussed his departure from and criticisms of Christian evangelicalism.
In the Chicago Tribune, Akeem Lawanson said that he is "obsessed with Rhett and Link's 'Ear Biscuits' podcast and [he] recommend[s] it to anyone that is curious about working in new media". The series premiered with episodes one and two being released on October 19, 2016, on Rhett and Link's Good Mythical Morning channel.
