Act of Valor is a 2012 American action film produced and directed by Mouse McCoy and Scott Waugh and written by Kurt Johnstad. [2] The film stars active duty U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen, as well as Roselyn Sánchez, Jason Cottle, Alex Veadov, Nestor Serrano, and Emilio Rivera.
Rorke Thomas Denver (born October 26, 1973) is an American actor, author, and former United States Navy SEALs commander. Denver is most known for his role as Lieutenant Rorke in the 2012 film Act of Valor and for his appearance as a team leader in the Fox Television series, American Grit.
The box office successes of Act of Valor in 2012 and Lone Survivor in 2013 led studios to seek out more real-life accounts of Navy SEALs to portray on film. Director Clint Eastwood released American Sniper in late 2014, and Eric Blehm's book about a SEAL Team Six operator, Fearless , also attracted attention from studios.
