Sakowitz was a men's clothing store which grew into a small chain of family-owned high-end department stores based in Houston, Texas.It operated from 1902 until 1990. Sakowicz was born in Vilna in 1894, the son of Elias and Sofia Sakowicz, then in the Russian Partition of Poland.
