Timmerhuset is a historic log cabin off Jemtland Road in New Sweden, Maine. Probably built sometime between 1871 and 1875, it is the oldest known surviving example of Swedish immigrant log construction in the state. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. [1]

The meeting house was unused for less than a year. It was purchased for $1,000 and converted into the town's first library and antiquarian society and known as Yarmouth Memorial Hall. It was donated to the town in 1910 and used for town meetings until 1946, at which point they were moved to the Log Cabin on Main Street.
While structurally sound, the three-level house needed a serious overhaul to be functional. It’s presumably 100 to 200 years old and was likely renovated once around the 1960s or ’70s.
