I Refuse to Be Lonely is the ninth studio album by American soul singer-songwriter Phyllis Hyman.It was released posthumously on November 21, 1995 by Philadelphia International Records and Zoo Entertainment, five months after the singer's death on June 30, 1995.
In 1996 after Phyllis Hyman died, the Whispers honored her with a musical: Thank God! The Beat Goes On . The fictionalized story intertwines the long-running career of the Whispers with the rise of Hyman, using songs by the Whispers including ones Hyman sang with them such as "The Beat Goes On".
"You Know How to Love Me" was re-released in the United Kingdom in 1986 to promote the compilation album The Best Of Phyllis Hyman. This re-release had the Goddess of Love album track "We Should Be Lovers" on the B-side, while a single from the same album titled "Riding the Tiger" was an additional bonus cut on the 12" single. Forever with You is the tenth and final studio album by American soul singer-songwriter Phyllis Hyman.It was released by Volcano Records on July 28, 1998. The album was released three years after Hyman's death and contains twelve previously unreleased songs that were recorded between 1985 and 1995 during her time on the Philadelphia International Records label.
