On 21 June 1944 a German bomber was hit by flak from a St Peter Port flak ship and crashed, the crew of 5 all died. On 17 July 1944 a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress G (serial: 43-37971) from 545th Bombardment Squadron part of 384 BG, crash landed, en route to France, in Guernsey.
