CITY College, University of York Europe Campus aims to embrace internationalisation while maintaining the same standards, curricula, and traditions of the British institution of the same name. CITY's educational bases comprises students and faculty members from more than 60 countries, who speak over 20 languages.
Campus East is a 287 acres (116 ha) site which is part of the University of York. The campus is situated around a 35 acres (14 ha) lake mirroring the design of Campus West. [ 1 ] The site currently contains five colleges ( Langwith , Goodricke , Constantine , Anne Lister , and David Kato ) along with social hubs and academic departments.
South-east of the city of York, [8] the university campus is about 500 acres (200 hectares) in size. [9] The original campus, Campus West, incorporates the York Science Park and the National Science Learning Centre , and its wildlife, campus lakes and greenery are prominent.

In 2002 Halifax Court was made a full College of the university and was renamed as Halifax College, York. Constantine College was founded in 2014. In 2003, the university set out plans to create a campus for 5,000 additional students, Heslington East. [9] [10] In May 2008 the City of York planners approved the design for the new campus. [11]
The only other non-US IBC established before 1990 was the University of Sheffield International Faculty in Greece in 1989, [10] which transitioned between 2022 and 2024 to become the CITY College, University of York Europe Campus. [13] International branch campuses began to proliferate in the mid-1990s and further into the twenty-first century.
