Walter Emerson Baum (December 14, 1884 – July 12, 1956) was an American visual artist and educator, active in the Bucks and Lehigh County areas of Pennsylvania.In addition to being a prolific painter, Baum was also responsible for the founding of the Baum School of Art, and the Allentown Art Museum.

[2] It was founded in 1934 by a group organized by Walter Emerson Baum, a Pennsylvania impressionist painter. The museum maintains a collection of over 19,000 works of art and is a major regional art institution.
The Baum School of Art is a non-profit community art school located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In 2016–2017, the school had a total enrollment of 3,346 students, 1,921 of which were children and teens, and 1,425 of which were adults. [1] 178 classes were offered for children and teens, [2] and 168 for adult students. [3]
