At the entrance to the grounds are wrought iron gates, flanked by stone piers about 4 metres (13 ft) high. Each pier has a projecting plinth, and is surmounted by a massive bull's head in a coronet. The flanking walls are about 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) high with heavy capping, and there are outer piers with caps and shallow pyramid tops.
