62 posts · Joined 2022. #37 · Feb 27, 2023. UPDATE - I bought a P365 Macro the end of January and it has supplanted the XL as my EDC. Bought a Blade Tech 2.0 holster to go along with it. Great gun and a great holster, which can easily be converted from IWB or OWB in about 20 seconds.
The RMRcc is small, roughly the same size as the Romeo Zero. Yes, on the P365XL the Type 2 has some overhang on the sides, but because of the way the Maple Leaf adapter plate is shaped it still looks good on the gun IMO. The adapter plate does raise the sight up a little.
The results (NONE on the P365) of work done by Sig have been mixed. Reviews of work by... www.sigtalk.com. The best gun for self-defense is the gun you have in your hand. I have swapped complete slide assemblies (slide, barrel, and RSA) between my XL and X-Macro (now the comp) and both exchanges function flawlessly. I kept the 3.7”barrel with the XL slide and the 3.1” barrel with the X-Macro (comp) slide. This whole evolution of Sigs, both P365 and P320 ((standard and “X”) is getting harder to understand ...
I looked at some threads on Sig Forum and some people said that the Sig P365 Gen 2 will have all the issues fixed, especially the ones on or after September 2018. I just bought my P365 several days ago. The seller told me this pistol is a Gen 2, and all the trigger issues and sights have been fixed and corrected.
Rich Jenkins. 3849 posts · Joined 2020. #11 · Aug 9, 2022. Owned a P365XL, shot 600+ rounds. Currently own a P365X, now going on 700+ rounds. I can't honestly say they shoot any differently. The XL might perhaps have an edge being softer in recoil, but that is about it. Otherwise they are peas in pod.

I haven't changed the front sight on my 365XL yet but think about it quite a bit. The x-ray sight is barely bright enough, or almost bright enough, depending on whether it's a glass half full, or glass half empty kind of day. This in an Ameriglo on a P320. The sight is nice and bright during the day. The center is normal tritium.
The parts are interchangeable. Just push the pin out at the rear of the module, lift the FCU out at the rear, drop the front into the XL module , pivot the rear down and install the pin. Interesting thought but I would guess it would be cheaper to buy the XL.
