The 2024 League of Legends World Championship was an esports tournament for the multiplayer online battle arena video game League of Legends.It was the fourteenth iteration of the League of Legends World Championship, an annual international tournament organised by the game's developer, Riot Games.
The league was officially formed on October 31, 2024, as the League of Legends Championship of The Americas, with the inaugural 16 teams in the league announced that same day. [ 19 ] 100 Thieves , initially planned to be a regular partnered team, also announced on October 31 that they sold their slot back to Riot Games.
The eight teams that participate in the tournament were put into a single-elimination bracket, not unlike the one used at the League of Legends World Championship.The only difference to the Worlds bracket was that the quarter-finals and semi-finals were best-of-3 games; the final was a traditional best-of-5 series.
