Tony refuses to talk, causing Hector, the enforcers' leader, to dismember Angel. Before Hector can do the same to Tony, Manny bursts into the room, shooting a machine pistol. A short gunfight ensues, in which Manny is shot in the arm, and Tony kills the Colombians. Tony, Manny, and Chi Chi escape with the cocaine and the money.
After assisting Tony with the murder of an enemy of Frank Lopez, they are granted green cards, and thus are released from their refugee camp. The four friends began their new life of crime under Lopez's criminal empire. Along the way Angel is killed during a drug deal gone-bad; Manny manages to save Tony's life in the same incident, however.
The plan backfires and Tony kills the two hitmen. Tony then goes to Lopez and has his right-hand man Manny kill Lopez and Tony then kills a corrupt police detective after Lopez confesses to hiring the hitmen to kill Tony. Tony becomes a drug lord in Miami and for a while, enjoys a period of mutual business prosperity with Sosa.
