William Kendrick Sexton was born in 1835 in Sherburne, New York. His father moved to Michigan in 1837. His father moved to Michigan in 1837. Sexton was educated in Michigan, then attended the Commercial College in Chicago in 1858 and went to work for the Cairo and Fulton Railroad Company.

Howell Township is a civil township of Livingston County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 7,893 at the 2020 census , [ 3 ] up from 6,702 at the 2010 census . [ 4 ] The township is bordered on the southeast by the city of Howell , but the two are administered autonomously.
Cohoctah is an unincorporated community in the northeast quadrant of the township at the junction of Oak Grove Road and Cohoctah Road. [6] It started around a grain elevator in 1886 that is no longer in operation. [7] Cohoctah Center is an unincorporated community, northwest of the center of Cohoctah Township. [8]
