The Kel-Tec RDB (Rifle, Downward-ejection, Bullpup) is a bullpup carbine offered in 5.56×45mm NATO semi-automatic rifle, manufactured by Kel-Tec Industries of Florida.It uses a rotary bolt with a spring loaded ejector and an extractor facing down, ejecting spent shell casings downward, allowing easy ambidextrous use.

The Magpul PDR (Personal Defense Rifle) is a prototype bullpup-style 5.56×45mm NATO carbine unveiled by Magpul Industries in 2006. Although halted in development as of 2011 it has garnered some attention, largely due to its "futuristic" appearance.
The Springfield entry was most interesting for its layout. It used two 30-round magazines in tandem in a bullpup layout , taking rounds from the front magazine first. However, their massive magazine-fed grenade launcher pushed the weight to 14 pounds (6.4 kilograms), and it seemed unlikely this could be reduced by much.
