The Fiat 124 Sport Coupé is a two-door, four-seater notchback coupé produced by the Italian automaker Fiat in three generations between 1967 and 1975. It was based on the Fiat 124 saloon . Its four cylinder aluminum and iron, twin overhead cam " Lampredi engine " was designed by ex- Ferrari engineer Aurelio Lampredi .
The Fiat 124 series engine was produced in a number of configurations differing in stroke and bore but maintaining a standard bore-spacing. The first model (124 A.000) was near square, using a bore and a stroke of 73 mm × 71.5 mm (2.87 in × 2.81 in) to produce a displacement of 1.2 L (1,197 cc).
