Universiti Malaysia Kelantan or UMK is a university in the state of Kelantan and is the country's 19th state university. It is located in the Bachok district, near the tourist area of the Tok Bali beach. UMK began operating officially on 1 September 2006.

UMPSA was founded as University College of Engineering and Technology Malaysia (Malay: Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan dan Teknologi Malaysia), abbreviated as UTEC or KUKTEM. [ 2 ] On 28 November 2015, UMPSA had been granted autonomous status where control over financial, human resources and administration had been fully passed to the university.
Kelantan was a divided feudal state, a common situation in the Malay Peninsula, with separate petty local rulers. However, a strong one managed to rise and conquer all these small petty territories.
