SEIKO VINTAGE CATALOGS - 1960s - 1980s. Below is a massive project that has been the better part of the last year in the process. Thanks to the generosity of some of our members (especially Gary Fredericks) we have been able to scan and collect a large collection of vintage seiko catalogs ranging from the late 1960s to H2 1985.

The Seiko 6206 caliber - 1960s workhorse and Seiko classic. The story actually starts with the 33j 400 caliber produced between July 1963 and February 1965 but does not gather pace until the arrival of the 6206 successor in May 1964. The 6206 is similar to the 400 but was downjewelled to 26j and simplified to make it easier and cheaper to produce.
Replacement hands from Seiko will have a three dimensional appearance, and where intended for Seikos latter SKX series of watches. MOVEMENT: 6309’s use a form of Seiko’s workhorse 17 jewel 6300 series automatic caliber. The movement cannot be manually wound; is non-hacking; and has crown operated quickset day/date calendar mechanisms.

I have three different methods. I have used the seiko kinetic charger, but it gets the watch so hot that it makes me nervous. I also have two different kinds of winders that work well: the Orbita "Sparta" type winder and the electronic winder that Sharper Image used to sell.
Welcome! It could be any number of things, but an easy first check would be to test the rechargeable battery (i.e., capacitor) voltage, provided you have a multimeter. If it's still charged, then the problem is somewhere in the movement. If it's dead, then for some reason it isn't charging up. If it's not charging, then it could just be a dud ...
