Butterfly is a 1982 American independent crime drama film co-written and directed by Matt Cimber, based on the 1947 novel The Butterfly by James M. Cain. The starring cast includes Stacy Keach, Pia Zadora, Lois Nettleton, Ed McMahon, James Franciscus, Edward Albert, and Orson Welles. The original music score was composed by Ennio Morricone.
Pia Zadora (born Pia Alfreda Schipani; May 4, 1954) [1] is an American actress and singer. She debuted a child actress on Broadway, in regional theater, and in the film Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964).
The film was Pia Zadora's second lead role in a feature. All her first three starring roles in films were financed by the company of her then husband Meshulam Riklis (the others were Butterfly and The Lonely Lady). [1] [2] Matt Cimber, who directed Butterfly, also made Fake Out. [3]
In 1982, Keach starred in Butterfly with Pia Zadora and Orson Welles. In the 1993 movie, Body Bags he played a man who is obsessed with hair. He portrayed a white supremacist in American History X, alongside Edward Norton and Edward Furlong.
