The first large cruise ships were the Voyager-class from Royal Caribbean Group's Royal Caribbean International (RCI). These ships, which debuted in 1998 at over 137,000 GT, were almost 30,000 GT larger than the next-largest cruise ships, and were some of the first designed to offer amenities unrelated to cruising, such as an ice rink and climbing wall. The option for a second vessel was exercised, which turned into Carnival Magic. The ship was ordered on 18 December 2006 [7] and keel was then laid on 12 January 2010. [8] The ship debuted on 1 May 2011. [8] The third ship was ordered 1 December 2009, which was named Carnival Breeze on 11 May 2010. [9] She sailed on 3 June 2012.
