Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois, is a 210-bed hospital in the greater Fox Valley area. It is named after Ira Clifton Copley , who donated over $2 million for the original hospital. It is part of the Rush University System for Health, which includes Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and Rush Oak Park Hospital.

In 1942, its association with the University of Chicago came to an end, when Rush temporarily suspended its pre-clinical educational program in the face of World War II. In 1956, Chicago's St. Luke's Hospital accepted Presbyterian Hospital's invitation to merge to obtain the critical mass of resources of contemporary teaching medical centers.

It was re-named in 1937 Copley Memorial Hospital when Mr. Copley donated $2 million toward an expansion. [1] A new hospital was built in 1995 about 3 miles southwest of the old hospital and was named the Rush–Copley Medical Center. His adopted sons James S. and William went on to notable careers in business and art, respectively.
Two more additions were placed on the building in 1970 and 1980, and the hospital was closed and replaced by the new Rush–Copley Medical Center in 1995. when the building was vacant it became popular with urban exploring and paranormal investigators as it is supposed to be haunted despite the building being unsafe. Skokie Hospital, formerly Rush North Shore Medical Center, joined NorthShore University HealthSystem in January 2009. [5] The hospital serves Skokie and the surrounding communities and is located at 9600 Gross Point Road.
