Givhans Alternative Program (GAP) was established to provide varying levels of instruction for students who struggle in the mainstream programs of Dorchester District Two. Typically, students at GAP receive a high level of instruction due to the rigorous structure and smaller class sizes provided by the school.

Ashley Ridge High School is a secondary school located in Dorchester County, South Carolina, United States. It is the newest high school in Dorchester School District Two. The school opened in August 2008.
Fort Dorchester High School's mascot is the Patriot, and its colors are red, blue, and silver. Fort Dorchester competes as a 5A school in Region 8. In 2015, the Fort Dorchester football team won the 5A South Carolina State Championship. [2]
Until the 1960s, a brick building on Main Street, which was once Rollings Middle School of the Arts, and now is the district building for all schools in the Dorchester area, was the only high school in the Summerville area. As Summerville's population increased rapidly in the late 1960s and early 1970s, a larger campus was needed.
