The fourth-generation Lincoln Navigator uses the Ford T3 platform, developed under the U554 code name. Retaining body-on-frame construction, the Lincoln Navigator (and Ford Expedition) were engineered alongside the 2015 Ford F-150. The four-wheel independent suspension configuration was retained, with a redesigned rear suspension layout.
The Lincoln Mark LT is a luxury pickup truck manufactured and marketed by Ford's Lincoln division for model years 2006–2008 (U.S. and Canada) and 2006–2014 (Mexico) as a badge engineered, luxury-trimmed variant of the Ford F-150 truck — and a successor to the 2002-only Lincoln Blackwood.
The F-150 again served as the basis for Ford full-size SUVs, as the long-running Ford Bronco was replaced by the five-door Ford Expedition for 1997, with Lincoln-Mercury introducing the Lincoln Navigator for 1998. For 2002, Lincoln-Mercury marketed its own version of the F-Series, introducing the Lincoln Blackwood as Lincoln's first pickup truck.

The T3 is Ford's incumbent large truck platform, which began production in November 2014, starting with the 2015 model year P552 F-150. The fourth generation Expedition, Expedition Max (formerly Expedition EL), Navigator and Navigator L are also built on this platform, shared with the Ford F-Series thirteenth generation chassis design from the P552 F-150 and P558 Ford Super Duty.
