  2. Gas Vs. Diesel Kubota Zero Turn? - Lawn Care Forum

    www.lawnsite.com/threads/gas-vs-diesel-kubota-zero-turn.473795

Diesels are usually heavier than gassers. Gassers are easier to work on with cheaper parts. Diesels usually cost more but last longer. Diesels also have much more torque to power through thick overgrown stuff better than gas engines do. Diesels are more expensive to buy, but bring more at trade-in / re-sale time.

My research points me to Scag Turf Tiger2 vs Kubota Z781. Both with decent dealer support close to me. (I've ruled out JDs due to no EFI engine options).

Have had Kubota mowers since 1981. One thing about Kubota...we have found they stand behind the product. We currently have 3 ZD's. We have had some transmission issues with each. Kubota has realized the problem and came up with a solution as far as I can tell. They also doubled the transmission warranty on our machines.

So on a $10,000 mower he makes $800. Big volume dealers get better pricing from the distributor so there’s room for more profit per Machine, but they’re usually a big volume dealer because their prices are lower, so those volume discounts typically get passed on to the consumer. So yea, they make around $800 per ztr.

Three very important factors speed them up compared to traditional mowers and tractors. A: Zero-turn ability B: Ground speed C: Blade speed. You can't go fast if the blades ain't cuttin'. You're definitely looking at a big one there in that ZD-28. Size and price.

Grasshopper has better drives than Kubota, in fact, Grasshopper has some of the best drives on the market. And it stands for reason, look at their attachments. Some of their attachments put alot of weight and stress on their drives and frame. Not many manufactures will offer a push blade and a 16 cubic foot all steel collection system for their ...

Much more of a robust agricultural design to the bota. Those Bota's are built to last. We had 2-3 on the farm as a kid and they ran like tanks.

To me JD's are not built like they were 20 years ago. Kubota still make quality products that are heavy duty and are built tough. Nathan's Lawn Service .
