Bread is the debut album by soft rock band Bread, released in 1969. Bread peaked at #127 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. A re-recorded version of "It Don't Matter to Me" was issued as a single after the release of Bread's second album, On the Waters , and the #1 success of " Make It with You " in the summer of 1970.

Manna is the third studio album by American soft rock band Bread, released in 1971.The title, like that of the preceding album On the Waters, is a Biblical pun on the name Bread, in this case the manna from Heaven which was fed to the Israelites.
After the commercial failure of their first album, Gates, Griffin and Royer, along with studio drummer Mike Botts, returned to the studio in a second attempt to make a hit record. Thanks largely to the success of the coinciding single " Make It With You / Why Do You Keep Me Waiting ", the album was a success, peaking at 12 on Billboard 200 .

He accepted the offer and worked as a full-time member of Bread from 1970 to 1973, when the band went on hiatus. At that point, Botts began working with Linda Ronstadt, [2] and recorded and toured with her for over two years. Botts reunited with the other members of Bread in 1976 for one final album and tour, before disbanding again in 1978. [1]
