Soul Train is an American musical variety television show. After airing locally on WCIU-TV in Chicago, Illinois, for a year, it aired in syndication from October 2, 1971, to March 25, 2006.

Dorian Gregory (born January 26, 1971 [1]) is an American actor and television host who played Darryl Morris on the television show Charmed (1998–2005) and was the fourth and final permanent host of Soul Train, replacing Shemar Moore.

Soul Train showcased African American culture, and brought African American musicians and dancers to television. In 1973 Freeman became a featured dancer on Soul Train after only her second appearance on the show, when Joe Tex invited her on stage to dance to his song I Gotcha in an unchoreographed impromptu performance.
