At some point the system closed the Holy Family, Sacred Heart, and St. Ann campuses. The system was renamed Northwest Catholic Regional School in 1977 after four parishes joined the school system. In 1993 Fr. Holland Elementary School became a part of the system. The Holland building closed in 2008.

The relatively small schools remained in operation even though the city is only 7.7 square miles (20 km 2) large; members of the Newport community wished to keep them open as they wanted their children to be in walking distance of their elementary schools.
Pulaski State Park is a 100-acre state park near the village of Chepachet in Glocester, Rhode Island.It was founded in 1939 and contains a day use facility inside the George Washington Management Area with a beach and covered picnic areas. [1]
The recreational grounds were established as East Beach State Park in 1967. [4] The area was listed at 174 acres (70 ha) in 2000. [5] In 2006, the state began "setting up this natural reserve in a major way" [3] with the addition of some 250 acres (100 ha) acquired through the purchase of four parcels at a cost of a little more than two million dollars.
