National figure skating championships for the 2023–24 season took place mainly from December 2023 to January 2024. They were held to crown national champions and to serve as part of the selection process for international events, such as the 2024 ISU Championships and Youth Olympics .
The 2024–25 figure skating season began on July 1, 2024, and will end on June 30, 2025. During this season, elite skaters will compete at the ISU Championship level at the 2025 European Championships , Four Continents Championships , World Junior Championships , and the World Championships .

British Ice Skating (formerly the National Ice Skating Association) is the national governing body of ice skating within the United Kingdom. Formed in 1879, it is responsible for overseeing all disciplines of ice skating: figure skating (singles, pairs and ice dance); synchronised skating; and speed skating (including short track).
The World Figure Skating Championships have been cancelled 16 times in the competition's history: from 1915 through 1921 due to World War I; from 1940 through 1946 due to World War II; [10] in 1961 as a result of the loss of the entire U.S. Figure Skating team in the crash of Sabena Flight 548; and in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
