On campus running clubs existed at various schools prior to the formation of the NIRCA. The Ball State Runners Association dated to October 2003 and hosted the MC5 meet [1] as early as 2004 which set the trend. The official organization was formed during the National Club Cross Country Conference at Ohio State University in May, 2006.
Amy Yoder Begley (née Yoder; born January 11, 1978 [2]) is an American running coach and former middle and long-distance runner. Yoder Begley was a national champion at three different distances (3k indoor, 10k road, 15k road) and competed in the 10,000 meter event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

In 2016, the club relocated from Las Vegas, New Mexico to Topeka, Kansas where they played at Lake Shawnee Sports Complex.
