State Road 40 (SR 40) is a 91.8-mile-long (147.7 km) east–west highway across northern and east-central Florida, running from U.S. Highway 41 (US 41) in Rainbow Lakes Estates eastward through Ocala over the Ocklawaha River and through the heart of the Ocala National Forest to SR A1A in Ormond Beach.
County Road 464B (CR 464B) is a suffixed alternate route of state and county roads 464, but is disconnected from both segments of the route. It begins in Levy County at SR 121 signed as Levy C-464, and terminates at US 27 in Fellowship, northwest of Ocala. Towards its midpoint, the county road has a 0.5-mile (0.80 km) concurrency with US 41. [5]

US 27-301-441 intersects with SR 200 (becoming the new hidden state road until US 301 reaches US 1-23). The highway reaches the heart of Ocala at the intersection with SR 40 (West Silver Springs Boulevard). After this, the road crosses a railroad bridge west of Ocala Union Station.
The route continues as County Road 35 until it reaches SR 326. SR 40 is the main west to east road in the county, spanning from US 41 north of Dunnellon, then passing through Ocala, Silver Springs, and Ocala National Forest, crossing the Marion-Lake County line just east of SR 19.
The $74.5-million (equivalent to $91.1 million in 2023 [21]) project started construction in August 2015 and completed in September 2017. [22] The interchange handles more than 80,000 vehicles per day and reduced intersection delays by 50 percent.
