The Munich Marathon (German: München Marathon) (also known as Generali Munich Marathon for sponsorship reasons) is an annual marathon road running event hosted by the city of Munich, Germany, usually in October, since 1983. The event features a full marathon (42.195 km (26.219 mi)) as well as a half marathon and 10K run.
The competition was launched as the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 1992 and held annually until 2010.
