Not sure how well this is known, but just in case, there is a workaround to order a la carte via the McDonald's app if needed. Whether it's a manager or store that refuses to charge the individual prices, this should enable you to order and pay through the app. I found this video recently and tried it today:
r/McLounge is a subreddit dedicated to open discussion between employees of McDonald's. Whether it be for advice or good stories, if you work at McDonald's, you belong here!
McDonald's claims there is a 1 in 5 chances of winning. So far I purchased 9 eligible items, that's 18 stickers, none of them won anything yet. ((( EDIT: Finally after 24 stickers I won my first food item, a small fountain drink.
Just a real pro tip: eating, with any consistency, at McDonald's - app or not - is not frugal. It may potentially save some money in the short term, but has a high risk of increasing spending and actually costing a lot in the long term. Penny wise, pound foolish, I believe they say.
The /r/FastFood subreddit is for news, reviews, and discussions of fast food (aka quick-service), fast casual, and casual restaurants -- covering everything fast food from multinational chains, regional and local chains, independent and chain cafeterias and all-you-can-eat restaurants, independent and chain diners, independent hole-in-the-wall restaurants, convenience store and gas station ...

The last time I had a McDonald's cheeseburger was on Christmas day (don't ask) and I did not notice a difference in the flavor. I don't actually consider the McDonald's cheeseburger a BURGER-burger (by which I mean, when I'm in the mood for a burger, McDonald's never enters my mind as a consideration), but I do like them.
McDonald's and other fast food restaurants are considered unhealthy because their food is typically high in calories, fat, sodium, and sugar. These foods can contribute to weight gain, obesity, heart disease, and other health problems.
It seems like most of the rightoid bitching isn’t so much that American McDonald’s ads are actually left-wing (which would mean advocating for better pay for workers and respect for the working class), but rather they’re angry, because Latinos and Black people and teh Gheys are in US advertising.
